Alexandra Permyakova (born October 17, 1949 in the Tambov Region) is an artistic director of the Pyatnitsky Russian Folk Choir. She bears the honorary titles «Honored Culture Worker of the Russian Federation», «Honored Artist of the Republic of Mordovia», «Honored Artist of the Russian Federation», «People’s Artist of the Russian Federation», Laureate of the Russian Government Prize. Honorary Professor of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts named after Lunacharsky, Chevalier of the Order of Honor, Presidium member of the Council for Culture and Arts of the President of the Russian Federation. Alexandra Permyakova has awarded the medals «Labor Veteran», «Patriot of Russia», «For professionalism and business reputation», «Saint Blessed Prince Daniel of Moscow», «Saint Sergius of Radonezh» II degree, many decorations, diplomas of state organizations, departments, institutions.
The choir was founded on March 2, 1911 by the outstanding researcher, collector and propagandist of Russian folk art Mitrofan Pyatnitsky, who for the first time showed the traditional Russian song in the form in which it has been performed by the people for centuries.
